FAQ’s

Q.1

When should I book in for my cake order?

The earlier the better when it comes to booking in a cake is always the way however, I do require a minimum of one weeks’ notice.

For Wedding cakes, I recommend booking at least 3-6months prior to the day, as I am aware this is a very busy time for the lucky couple, it’s best to get final details done early.

Generally though, I suggest booking at least four weeks in advance - please be aware that weekends book up quickly, so the earlier the better to secure the date you would like is encouraged.

Q. 2

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A 50% deposit is required via bank transfer to confirm your booking. The last 50% is due at least two weeks prior to your pick up/delivery date.

Q. 3

How much will my cake cost?

As you can appreciate, each cake is custom made and so, are individually priced based on designs and details. Including, but not limited to, size of cake, types of icing, final decoration etc.

As a guide, please refer to my Pricing guide.

How can I place an order?

You can put in a request through the Contact us Tab, email me at sammy@cakeandspoon.com.au or phone me on 0432 606 818. Please note, emails are more convenient, as I can’t always get to my phone, however if you leave a message I will do my best to get back in touch asap.

Q. 4

Do you deliver cakes or do I have to pick it up?

Both options are available. Delivery is however an additional cost (price, dependant on distance to the destination). Wedding cakes do include local delivery at no extra cost, however outside of Toowoomba will incur additional charges. I strongly suggest Wedding cakes to be delivered, as I am then able to assemble and place any final touches, if necessary, upon set up, and it will be one less thing for you to think about on your special day.

Q.5

Can you cater for Gluten free or other dietary requirements?

Although I can provide gluten free cakes, all cakes are prepared in the same kitchen which handle ingredients that contain gluten, dairy, nuts and eggs. While I do my absolute best to accommodate individual dietary requirements, I cannot 100% guarantee zero cross contamination.

If you decide to cancel your booking within 2 weeks from your event date, the 50% deposit is non-refundable, however if you have provided more than two weeks’ notice, your deposit will be returned via bank transfer.

Additional to this, I understand during the current unfortunate pandemic that events have sadly needed to be postponed or cancelled. If you are concerned, please contact me and I am happy to discuss your options further.
